History

Lepizzera & Laprocina was founded in August of 2001 by Paul N. Laprocina Jr and Michael J. Lepizzera. Far more than just a typical title and escrow company, LepLap focused since its inception on customer service and professional support. Initially handling residential and commercial real estate transactions in RI, MA, and CT, the company's footprint has expanded to handle transactions in all 50 states. Lepizzera & Laprocina’s reputation has grown as has the customer base we serve. We now occupy 10,000 square feet in Warwick, RI so we can continue to provide the level of service to which our customers have become accustomed.

Initially, Lepizzera & Laprocina focused primarily on title and escrow. When the housing market took a downward turn in 2006, LepLap recognized an opportunity to assist homeowners avoid foreclosure through short sales. Although few companies in the region were familiar with the practice of short selling, the company turned its attention to this distressed market. As the market for short sales was growing, LepLap positioned itself as industry leaders in not only negotiating short sales, but providing valuable education to industry professionals and consumers alike. In order to continue to provide unparalleled title and escrow service, LepLap recognized and formed a short sale division to provide superior service in both areas of practice. In addition to the thousands of closings handled, the company has handled over 1,000 short sale transactions to date.

The decline of the housing market and increase of short sales and foreclosures led the Lepizzera & Laprocina team to realize that, while internal education and experience dealing with this new market had been effective, few of the company’s professional partners were truly familiar with the procedure, ramifications, and benefits of short selling. LepLap introduced short sale educational seminars to assist real estate agents, consumers, and mortgage professionals deal with the distressed housing market and the worst recession sice the Great Depression. The seminar curriculum is registered with the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation (DBR), MA, CT, and NJ which allows LepLap to offer continuing education unit credits to attendees.
